Recent Allergen recalls

Two allergen recalls in Australia within one week have highlighted the need for everyone within industry to be aware of the risks related to undeclared food allergens and the costs of getting it wrong.

Kraft Foods Australia is recalling a batch of Dairybites Snackabouts (Best Before Date 16 May 07) that are labelled as Cheddar Cheese spread variety. Rather than containing Dairybites snackabouts, they contain individual portion packs of Kraft Peanut Butter Snackabouts.

Kinnerton Confectionary Australia is recalling a batch of Spiderman 3 Chocolate eggs in ceramic mugs (Best Before Date July 08) that are labelled as nut free. A conflicting statement on the same package declares the product “may contain traces of peanuts, tree nuts and seeds”.
