President Obama signs Food Allergy Act

The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act (AAMA) was introduced in the U.S. Congress five years ago. On 4 January 2011, the Act became law with its signing by President Obama.

The Act calls for the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to develop and make available to schools a voluntary policy to manage the risk of food allergy and anaphylaxis in schools, and to provide for school-based food allergy management incentive grants to support implementation of food allergy management guidelines in public schools.
