Monoclonal antibody use in allergy therapy

Monoclonal antibodies are potential candidates for the treatment of allergic disorders including food allergies. If designed specifically, they may act on the specific targets of an allergic immune response. A recent review conducted in Turkey addresses various concerns such as efficacy, safety, long-term tolerability of some monoclonal antibodies. The review focuses on those monoclonal antibodies that have been trialled in published clinical studies looking at the management of allergic disorders, but also considers some recently patented monoclonal antibodies and their uses.
