Large scale peanut allergy trial

A successful pilot-scale trial which showed the tolerance of some people with peanut allergy could be built up over time to cope with doses of up to five nuts, is to be extended. The group from Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, UK, who carried out the pilot will conduct the next phase of their research with over 100 children aged 7 to 17 years. The trial is reported to have a £1m budget, and will take 3 years.
