House Of Lords to debate 2007 Allergy Report

The UK House of Lords has debated the Science and Technology Committee's report on Allergy which was published in September 2007. The Government responded to the report in November last year and accepted many of the Committee's recommendations. The debate aimed to give the Committee the opportunity to question the Government on how far they have got in implementing these recommendations.

The recommendations included:
- The establishment of a pilot allergy centre to bring together and co-ordinate allergy services;
- The need for better education and training in allergy treatment for health care professionals; and
- The call for an urgent review of the under use of immunotherapy in this country.

The outcomes of the 8th May 2008 debate will be published in due course.  The archived footage can be viewed via www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Archive.aspx
