Food Allergy Awareness Week

The 2011 Australian Food Allergy Awareness Week will be held from 16-21 May. This year, Anaphylaxis Australia is aiming to raise awareness among those who do not have food allergies via a community service announcement campaign.

The campaign will feature comedian Peter Helliar, former President of the Australian Medical Association Dr Mukesh Haikerwal, and celebrity chef Alex Herbert. Their aim is to help educate the Australian public about the realities of food allergy and anaphylactic reactions.

In the United States, Food Allergy Awareness week runs from 8-14 May 2011.
