Cashew nuts found to cause more severe allergic reactions than peanuts

A review of nut allergies in the UK has indicated that allergy to cashew nut is becoming more common than previously reported, and the severity of the reaction to cashew nut is greater than peanut allergy.

Allergens added to mandatory advisory labelling in the EU

Due to increasing concerns about the allergenicity of both molluscs and lupins, the European Food Safety Authority has added these two allergens, and their derivatives, to the list of substances requiring mandatory advisory labelling on foodstuffs sold in the European Union.
