Coeliac Awareness Week 13-20 March

A major goal of The Australian Coeliac Society is to increase awareness of all facets of coeliac disease. In a partnership with the Coeliac Research Fund, they will hold The Australian Coeliac Awareness Week from 13-20 March 2010. The key messages this year will focus on awareness and diagnosis of the disease in childhood.

In support of Coeliac Awareness Week 2010, the Coeliac Research Fund will host Professor Markku Mäki, Chair and Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tampere and Tampere University Hospital in Finland who is considered a world opinion leader in the field of coeliac disease.

Following his visit to Australia, Professor Maki will head to New Zealand where he will be the guest speaker in Auckland on 23rd March with a presentation ‘Global advances in coeliac disease’.
