Children with peanut allergy have worse asthma

Results of a new study suggest that among children and teenagers with asthma, those who also have peanut allergies have more or more-severe asthma attacks.

Researchers at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware found that among the group of school-aged children with asthma seen at their center, those with peanut allergies generally had more hospitalizations for asthmatic conditions than children without peanut allergy. The reason for this association is still not clear and further research is required.
