Australasian food industry continues to grapple with allergen labelling

As the Australasian food industry continues to grapple with the requirements to label the presence of the key allergens, there have been 5 allergen-related recalls in the past 2 months (August/September 2006).

This included 2 products labelled as gluten-free that were found to contain detectable levels of gluten.  Other recalls related to the unlabeled presence of peanut, sesame and milk. For free advice on a range of allergen management issues, please contact us.
