Another application for allergy sufferers

In the May 2010 Allergen Bureau eNews we reported on an iPhone application being developed in Australia, aimed at allowing greater access to food ingredient information for those with food allergy. A similar iPhone application ‘MyFoodFacts™’ has been launched in the United States, coinciding with the FAAN National Food Allergy Awareness Week (May 9-15, 2010).

Like the Australian application, MyFoodFacts™ utilises the camera function of an Apple iPhone, whereby shoppers can scan the barcode of a food product to gain instant access to food allergen information pertaining to that product.
