Anaphylaxis register established

An anaphylaxis register has been established to enable the registration of reactions reported by clinics and practices in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Data of a one-year pilot phase demonstrates that the most common triggers of anaphylaxis are foods in children and insect stings in adults.

According to the reports, adrenaline was used in only 11% of the emergency room cases. This data shows the necessity of registration and analysis of anaphylactic reactions to achieve an improved management of patients in the future.
