Anaphylaxis Australia issues allergy advice to schools

Coinciding with the start of a new school year, Anaphylaxis Australia has released a statement to remind the community that in one in seven Australian schools this year a student will experience potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. In the past, one in five anaphylactic reactions in schools have occurred in a playground, travelling to or from school or during school excursions or trips.
Anaphylaxis Australia is calling for ongoing education and training sessions in schools and childcare centres to ensure staff are prepared, and also urges these facilities to increase discussion of the issue via forums such as school newsletters, information sessions and class discussions.
