Allergy management guidelines for schools

The New York state departments of health and education have produced standardized guidelines, for managing food allergies and anaphylaxis in public schools throughout the state, titled ‘Making the Difference: Caring for Students with Life-Threatening Allergies’.

The guidelines outline how schools can protect food-allergic students by developing a partnership that includes the student and family, administrators, teachers, health care staff, food service and transportation personnel and coaches, and volunteers involved in after-school activities and field trips.
