NZIFST allergen short course

The New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology (NZIFST) will host a short course industry update ‘PIF, VITAL and Allergens’ at the Waipuna Hotel, Auckland on 4th May 2011. Registrations closed on 20th April, however late registrations may be accepted, subject to availability.

A detailed literature review into epigenetics and allergies has found evidence that indicates transient environmental factors may have permanent effects on gene regulation and expression which potentially leads to the development of allergic disease.

Dr Evan Newnham, a gastroenterologist based in Melbourne, Australia, has conducted a literature review to find evidence for the effect of gluten on gastrointestinal symptoms in people who do not have coeliac disease.
