The New Zealand Food Safety Authority is hosting a one-day seminar on Food Allergens on 21 March 2007 at the Waipuna Convention Centre in Auckland. The session will feature an update of the regulations by both NZFSA and FSANZ, plus a look at the recent allergen recall statistics. The AFGC Allergen Forum will provide an overview of the initiatives developed by industry such as Voluntary Incidental Trace Allergen Labelling (VITAL), the Product Information Form and the recommended allergen labelling format. The issues of allergen testing and in-house training will be addressed in the afternoon session.
