Now familiar to most food manufacturers and suppliers across Australia and New Zealand, the Product Information Form (PIF^©) is an efficient, unique Australian/New Zealand initiative developed by the AFGC Allergen Forum. Hamilton Grant has just released their new ‘PIF^© Manager’ product which is designed to support the success of PIF.

PIF is designed to allow the use of one standardised document to provide product information to all industry customers. The form provides a single template and is intended to replace the numerous company-specific information forms used across the supply chain between suppliers and manufacturers.

Hamilton Grant’s ‘PIF Manager’ enables electronic processing of PIF files over the internet, making them available anywhere, anytime, along the supply chain. ‘PIF Manager’ can make the data available either as pdf documents for easy reading, or as ‘rsp’ files for Hamilton Grant’s Recipe and Specification Management Systems without the need to re-key.

Whereas it was previously available only as a Microsoft Word document, the additional online format allows broader access to PIF and greater compatibility with manufacturers’ existing product information systems. This is likely to further promote the uptake and use of PIF across industry.
