International food allergen conference June 2010

Highlights of the program include discussions on the current clinical status of food allergens, regulatory aspects and scientific matters, analytical approaches for allergen detection, and food industry practices.

Presentations will include EuroPrevall threshold studies, management of 'anaphylaxis registeries' in several EU countries, and feedback from the EU Commission on food allergen labelling in the future.

An invited guest speaker from the UK Food Standards Agency will discuss their approach to thresholds and their value in risk assessment, plus the latest research focusing on peanut allergy and peanut allergy thresholds will be presented.

The conference will be chaired by Stefan Vieths from the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut and Steve Taylor from the University of Nebraska.
