Another gluten test kit given AOAC certification

A rapid gluten test kit manufactured by United States company ELISA Technologies, Inc., has earned Performance-Tested MethodsSM certification from the AOAC Research Institute. The manufacturers state the kit, which is marketed as 'EZ Gluten®' can provide test results in approximately15 minutes.

The EZ Gluten® kit is designed to detect the presence of gluten in foods and beverages at detection levels of 10 parts per million. The AOAC Performance-Tested MethodsSM status was granted after trials at ELISA Technologies and an independent laboratory demonstrated that the method delivered consistent, accurate results that would allow food companies and consumers to screen their products for gluten.
