Quality Assurance International (QAI), a provider of organic certification services in the United States, and the non-profit group National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) have worked together to launch a national certification program for gluten free foods.

A rapid gluten test kit manufactured by United States company ELISA Technologies, Inc., has earned Performance-Tested MethodsSM certification from the AOAC Research Institute. The manufacturers state the kit, which is marketed as 'EZ Gluten®' can provide test results in approximately15 minutes.
Peanut allergy risks from blood transfusion

A report in a recent issue of The New England Journal of Medicine describes an apparent allergic reaction to peanuts that was suffered by a six year old boy while receiving a blood transfusion as part of his cancer treatment.
